#11 The We're a Culture; Not a Costume" vs Halloween Fun

The campaign, "We're a culture, not a costume," features students of different races holding pictures of costumes of racial or ethnic stereotypes: a geisha, a suicide bomber, a Native American, a "Mexican on a donkey," a person with their skin painted black and a metal grill in their mouth.Brainchild of Students Teaching About Racism in Society, the campaign drew international media attention, generated intense online debate and perhaps most telling, it became the object of several Internet spoofs.

#10 The Real Reason for Gadhafi's Elimination

When Moammar Gadhafi was pronounced dead by CNN yesterday morning October 20, 2011 I was somewhat emotionless. I didn’t really have an opinion about Gadhafi. All I truly knew about the man was that he was dictator for over 40 years in the country of Lybia in the continent of Africa. (Had to put “Africa” just in case Michelle Bachmann is reading & forgets again that Lybia is in Africa…but anyways) I also recognized that many U.S presidents that invited him to the white house included President Obama and did not seem to have a problem with his power against his people of Lybia. Then one day “all of a sudden” … somehow, we’re hearing reports on TV that this horrific dictator has been “killing his people” and needs to be removed from power. The Fuck? Didn’t we have this same issue with Saddam Hussein a decade ago?

BUT GUESS WHAT? I came across a report that suggests other reasons for the sudden take down of Gadhafi.

The video states the suspicion of what the real purpose might have been for the elimination of this 40 years plus dictator. A few individuals in the international political world believe it is about oil, but others are convinced the attack in Libya is primary about Gaddafi's plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth within the continent…something the power nations don’t have in comparison to Africa.

This seems to be legitimate reasons why Gadhafi was taken out of power. Something that could have promoted Africa in the international world and hinder the power nations is always a primary reason for the elimination of that said encourage(r). The power Countries, United States, United Kingdom, and Israel etc cannot deal extreme progress in Africa that can change the powers of the world. If Africa even seems close to being a contender in the international world in regards to power it obviously seems like it can threaten the USA and Britain.

How unfortunate is that…..Yet surprisingly expected. The USA preaches about trying to change the progress of Africa and its nations in a positive way, but now we see its only to a certain extent. In other word…
“Oh Africa, we want you to be able to feed and provide for your people domestically, but when it comes to a international stage of powers you cannot be included …because its all about the USA and UK, we run this..but we’re still going to need your natural resources to accommodate us.. ok? Cool.”
I would love to go into the potentiality of what Africa and the many nations will eventually be capable of, but that’s a whole ‘nother story and blog post.

One day… Africa will shock the world.
